The Practical Steam Engine

October 23, 2015 By Tierney

The Practical Steam Engine

A green, sustainable co-gen solution for NYC buildings
using high pressure steam.

With no need for a stack or chimney!

www.practicalsteam.com

To all of our clients;

We have a fascinating technology that uses Con Edison high pressure steam, converts it to low pressure, while generating up to 300 kW free electrical power for the building to use.

The Practical Steam Engine is reciprocating piston, big block engine that is piped in parallel to the building PRV station. Capable of operating with pressures up to 300 PSI, at 10,000 lbs/hour, it can generate enough electricity to feed most building owner services (elevators, common area lighting, etc.,) Through the use of a patented valve and control scenario the engine quietly, and reliably creates electricity without causing air pollution – as it needs no fossil fuel supply.

Please visit www.practicalsteam.com or email me at johna@leonardpowers.com for more information.

This is just one of several very exciting energy innovations that we at LPI Controls have to offer – we have high precision valves and controls (Leslie, RTK, Bray) as well as pumps (HOMA, Paterson, American Marsh), Boilers (Hamilton and Sussman) and many Co-gen applications (Elite Energy, Ritter Solar).

Leonard Powers is a trusted name in the steam heating field and we have been in this business for over 80 years.

We look forward to partnering with you by working with your building staff to do a seasonal check up of your Con Edison steam service entrance,PRV stations, valve and controls operations, piping insulation, hot water tanks, and heat exchangers.

We are here to help – see our attached description of services and line card of equipment that we provide.

Please contact me at johna@leonardpowers.com and we will schedule a visit to your building(s).
