Macy's Brooklyn
Brooklyn, NY
Elite Energy made a proposal to Macy’s. In order to save them money they would install a cogeneration system. After much deliberation Macy’s concurred that it would be a worth while venture.
Elite Energy spent about one year designing and building the cogen units then installed 2 natural gas combined heat and power units(cogens) on top of Macy’s in Brooklyn.
Each unit produced 165 kWe and together they would supply 2.13 million btu’s per hour. Elite also replaced the chillers and boilers with modern high efficiency units. This reduced yearly energy costs significantly and reduced their carbon footprint significantly.
